Senior Geologist / Exploration Manager

My client is a Perth-based minerals exploration group with a growing portfolio across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America. They're well backed, move quickly and are looking for an experienced geologist to step in as Exploration Manager.

You'll lead the geological team, oversee several projects at once and be the person the board relies on for technical advice. Just as important, you'll be able to take complex exploration results and explain them clearly to the board, investors and the market.

The role

• Manage and mentor a team of geologists based in Perth
• Oversee exploration programmes across multiple international jurisdictions
• Plan and supervise sampling, drill targeting and drilling programmes
• Manage drilling contractors and keep programmes moving in remote locations
• Interpret results and give clear technical direction to the board
• Prepare presentations, technical reports and ASX announcement material
• Present and explain the geology to the board, investors and stakeholders
• Help assess new project opportunities as the portfolio grows

About you

• Degree in Geology or similar
• Solid exploration experience, including managing a geological team
• Track record of running exploration and drilling programmes across more than one country
• Experience with some of gold, copper, nickel, lithium, bauxite or rare earths
• Strong report writing, with experience preparing ASX announcements and investor material
• Confident presenting technical information to non-technical audiences
• African or Middle East exploration experience would be a real plus
• Uses your own initiative and is happy to take ownership
