My client is a global manufacturer (OEM) of high-quality pumps and pumping systems. They’ve got a large international backing, proven products, and a clear focus on smart technology, and engineered water movement solutions across mining, water, and industrial sectors. Due to continued success and expansion, they’re now looking for a technically minded, commercially capable Sales Engineer who can help grow their footprint in WA

About the Role

Whilst they have thousands of staff globally and a team already in place in QLD, NSW and NZ, you’ll be the first on the ground in WA! There’s some existing customers and local project work to build from, and strong technical and commercial support available from the national team, but you’ll work independently and autonomously - planning and managing your own time without anyone micromanaging you (but you will have plenty of support available from the wider group). You’ll be managing current relationships, identifying new opportunities, and helping to build their presence in WA moving forward. This is an opportunity to start as a sales engineer, but could lead to so much more!

What You'll Be Doing
 

  • Identifying and growing client relationships with a focus on mining as well as water, and industrial sectors
  • Identifying new business opportunities and closing deals
  • Providing advice, sizing, and system selection support across a wide pump product range
  • Travelling and meeting potential clients in Perth and across WA as required
  • Feeding back market intel to help shape the WA strategy and future team
  • Working independently, leveraging new and existing contacts, booking meetings and sharing in the companies success.  


What We’re Looking For
 

  • Ideally a Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Process, or related Engineering discipline 
  • Experience in technical sales or business development
  • Technical knowledge of pumps or pumping systems 
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own time and pipeline
  • Solid understanding of the WA market especially mining 
  • High levels of drive, initiative, and commercial thinking
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Navision would be useful as would SAP
