My client has an immediate need for a Project Geologist to run the geology on an RC drilling programme at a remote project in North Queensland, north-west of Cairns.
This is a short contract - two to three months - starting in around two weeks, so they need someone available now who can get straight into it. It's a gold/copper RC job on a 2/1 roster, with accommodation sorted by the client.
The role
- Supervise the RC drilling and manage the day-to-day geology on site
- Log RC chips and record your geological data accurately
- Sampling, sample dispatch and QAQC
- Data entry and database management
- Work in with the drill crew and keep the programme moving
What you'll need
- A degree in Geology or a related earth science
- Around 4-6 years' experience as a project geologist
- Good RC logging and sampling experience, ideally in gold or copper
- Available to start mid-August and see out the full contract
- Happy to work a 2/1 roster on a remote site (roster negotiable)
The details
- 2-3 month contract, starting mid-August 2026
- Day rate in the range of $800 - $900 per day + super
- Accommodation and meals in mining camps or caravan parks
- Local candidates or fly-in options both considered
