Details:
Type of experience we are looking for:
- Flora and vegetation surveys
- Fauna survey and monitoring programs across vertebrates or invertebrates
- Avifauna / Black Cockatoo assessments
- Chiropteran work including harp trapping, Anabat/Song Meter deployment, call analysis for Ghost Bat and Pilbara Leaf-nosed Bat
- Herpetology, small mammal trapping, camera traps, spotlighting and track identification
- Short-range endemic (SRE) invertebrates, subterranean fauna surveys (stygofauna and troglofauna)
- Ecological assessments, baseline studies, monitoring and rehabilitation success criteria
- EIA and approvals including EPBC Act referrals, WA EP Act Part IV and Part V, Native Vegetation Clearing Permits, offsets and compliance
- Technical report writing for ERD/PER, EMPs, monitoring reports, MS condition compliance
- Data, GIS and QA/QC workflows using GPS, QGIS/ArcGIS, Excel, R or Python
What you will need:
- Degree in Botany, Ecology, Zoology or Environmental Science
- WA experience across bioregions such as Pilbara, Goldfields, Midwest and / or Southwest WA
- Consulting background with solid client-facing and report delivery skills
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- Nice to have: WA scientific licences, fauna handling permits, 4WD competency, remote fieldwork experience, strong HSE focus
